Proof in Creation – Romans 1:20 Devotional

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20, ESV).

Everyday there are a number of events that take place to begin the day; the earth turning on its axis causing a sunrise, opening our eyes, taking that first deep breath of the day, birds chirping or perhaps snow falling. A few things are the same no matter where a person is located; some things change, but no matter what, God is evident in all of it. When God was using Paul to write this passage of scripture, the church in Rome was dealing with much persecution, a fact that was not uncommon to Christians at that time. Becoming one with the world, or giving in and living a compromised life for the sake of comfort for a little while, is what many were tempted to do. Therefore, Paul deals with this a lot in his teachings.

If you wonder how nature can prove God’s existence check out any of the videos from Louie Giglio. He has a way with words that will knock your socks off when it comes to proving God’s existence through creation. In one of his videos he talks about a very smallest molecule that holds us together. Laminin is a protein molecule that is shaped like the cross of Jesus Christ. Louie describes it as “…the rebar of the human body…” it’s what holds us together; if you have a chance Google Laminin and see it for yourself.

Everything everywhere points to Christ, because he is the only way (John 14:6). In the very next verse of Romans 1, we can see that the broken heart of God rings out through scripture, over the sinful state of humanity. God has set his face like flint toward the salvation of all, but because of his love for us he will not force us to love him. He would rather we come to him by our own choice. So he put evidence of himself into all creation. Laminin is proof that I’m not just talking about the way the wind blows or how the grass grows, but more so how God has build the human body, the world, the solar system and so on. Proof of God is everywhere, and it cannot be denied, only ignored.
