Temples of Ease: Spiritual Ruins of the Modern World
“And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him” (Mark 1:13, KJV).
I have called you for the work of the Gospel, which I promised beforehand through My prophets in the holy Scriptures. But take heed, for the evangelist of the world will also call your name, and his ministers will be quick to proffer you every comfort that he has stored in his treasuries.
As I was tested in the wilderness, so have many diverse temptations been prepared for your soul, albeit they are not the type to be found in the barrenness of the wilderness, nor will you have to contend with the wild beasts of Creation. Instead your assault will transpire in the temples of ease and comfort, in the synagogues of luxury and wealth, in the gluttonous conveniences of technology, and in the spiritual ruins of the modern world.
No sooner will you be anointed in the Spirit than assailed by the flesh. Live by every Word that proceeds from out of My mouth and worship Me alone; and Satan’s ministers will flee, opening the way for My angels to minister to you instead.
